I Heart London.
My favourite European city is London. I honestly didn’t realize it till recently, because there are so many beautiful cities on that side of the world, but London has so much to offer. I have another trip coming up soon. I’ll be heading to Yacht Week, the Greece route, in July and I’m trying to plan a way to hit london during the same trip. It’s a staple for me to go to London whenever i’m traveling on that side of the globe. I can’t get enough of the culture, and the city itself is incredible.
I was lucky enough to go to Greece last year and had the opportunity to meet my friends in London. A few months later I was in Paris with my family- and made sure to stop into London for a few days. Now that i’m planning to attend Yacht week in Greece, I’m going to absolutely make sure to visit London again! Obviously I do heart LONDON.
Afternoon Tea is the best. Weirdly, custom that doesn’t exist in a lot of countries around the world. I’m originally from Burma, which was a British Colony for a long time. Especially around Mandalay, which was the second largest British colony in Burma. My mom’s side of the family is from that area, so naturally, we adopted some british aspects of life- my personal favorite being afternoon tea. My mom’s family all went to catholic schools in the area and had time dedicated in their day to afternoon tea. It’s an important, unskippable part of the day to them. The bite size cakes, little finger sandwiches, and delicious biscuits are so much fun for the tea table. A lot of effort is put into making them look so pretty! If you want to experience this for yourself, check out some of the place around the Knightsbridge neighborhood in London. You’ll find some of the cutest, fancy tea houses there.
The Tower of London is for great for photo shoots..and omg.. China town is incredible. YUP! So colorful and fun. It’s weird to say, but the best Pho I’ve ever had was in London. I’m from the Silicon Valley, we pride ourselves on the diversity of restaurants and world class quality of food available. But I was shocked at how amazing this small Pho restaurant was. I always end up eating there two or three times through every visit to London. I can’t even remember what the place is called, I Just tell my friends to take me there and they know exactly what I’m talking about.. I’m going to find out the name and post it here for you Dolls. You have to go there!
Did I mention how much I love an english breakfast. Bacon, Poached eggs, fried mushrooms, and black pudding (which is my fav). All my friends hate it and pile it onto my plate. I’m completely okay with that!
White wonderland in Hyde Park! Me and my bff
a little break from the shopping.. lol
If you are looking for a cool place to hang out and do some shopping, check out Carnaby street and Covent Gardens. You’re always going to find a nice place to sit and chill with tons of shops nearby.
If you’re looking to really see the sites, Sky Garden is amazing. I highly recommend the rooftop bar/restaurant at the top, Frenchurch. It has an amazing atmosphere, their cocktails are beautiful and the food is so good!
My friends live in the Barnsbury neighborhood, so we always get a cute Airbnb flat in the area. Any place we rent is guaranteed to be a cute two story flat with a backyard full of flowers. A truly IG worthy garden ;). Overall, It’s an adorable neighborhood with rows of super cute houses, shops and small restaurants. I might end up retiring there..
There are so many thing I want to do and see when I get to London. It’s hard to note them all here, but I can’t wait to start the adventure. Can’t wait to see you London! I’m counting down the days!
