Santa Catalina Yacht Life

B-Day on a yacht! Sounds FUN right, hahaha. It’s not my birthday though, it’s my little cousin! I wanted to really surprise her this time, so I rented this cool yacht and planned a trip down to Santa Catalina, one of the most beautiful islands off the coast of California. Besides the awesome views, it’s mostly known for Mt. Orizaba, its highest peak and a hikers paradise.. The plan was to go for a hike around the mountain then cool off with some snorkeling at Lovers Cove.  I invited a bunch of her friends, my bff (of course!) and my cousin’s bf.

Lately, I’ve been into all black looks. Lots of sheer and lace. My closet is pretty much completely full of black at this point.. Before going on the trip, I was on a serious mission to hunt down cute swimwear. I don’t think I’ve mentioned it before, but I’m super picky when it comes to swimsuits. Any swimsuit I wear has to fit just right and match the mood of the trip. Amazingly at the last minute, I found this black fishnet mesh two piece and fell in love with it right away. I got so lucky.. I almost had to settle with wearing an older one from my collection. I knew I’d be getting in and out of the water constantly throughout the trip, so I really needed something that would dry quick and look hot at the same time. ;)

The trip couldn’t have been more fun.. But after jumping into the water a few times , my hair was a complete mess.. So I threw on a leather cap on from Aritzia, which kept the sun out of my eyes at the same time! After a little while, I felt like I needed a pop of color to take a break from all the black. I decided to wear the Black Cherry Liquid Lip Velvet from Burberry. One of my faves. It just like the name says.. It feel so velvety on your lips and lasts forever. Also, it smells like fresh ripe cherries. Who wouldn’t want their lips to taste and smell like cherries! I ended up buying two more, just in case were sold out when I got back.. I can’t get enough of it.

OH, before I forget! The sunscreen I wear is Chanel UV ESSENTIEL SPF 30. I use it everyday on top of my normal skin care routine. For this trip, I decided to go with the SPF 50, and I’m glad I did.. It was super sunny.. Plus, it protects your skin from free radicals and pollution too! :)

Ok, this is a fun part…  I bought this Victoria’s Secret two piece a while ago and honestly don’t know what I was thinking at the time.. It just seemed really sexy. I had to have it.. I haven’t found the opportunity to wear it out yet, but as I was packing for the trip, it just kept staring at me from the closet. Eventually, i was like, what the hell, I’m going to take it and wear it. I know, I know.. It’s fusha. I’m usually such a grayscale girl but sometimes breaking out of the box is fun. I’m really glad I bought it!

We spent over 3 days on that yacht.. It was so much fun, I barely got any sleep.. It sounds weird, but was so ready to go home. There’s nothing like sleeping in your own bed and eating home cooked food... That’s right! This Burmese girl knows how to cook (thanks to my ma and my brothers). One of these days I’ll share some of my favorite recipes and kitchen secrets with you, dolls.
