Silent Melody...
I’ve been living in this city for awhile.. Heard a lot about the Dogpatch neighborhood but haven’t had the chance to explore it yet. I’ve heard a lot of different things about it- mostly good but some bad, made me really want to check it out for myself.
Finally, that day came. I basically fell in love with the place as soon as I got there.. IT’S SO ARTSY! And yup, (my favorite part) it’s dog-friendly! It was such a sunny and warm day. I was so excited to see some of the City’s oldest structures still standing there. A perfect mix of rustic and industrial. Places like this are bloggers and photographers favourite pieces to background. Offering so much opportunity for creativity.
I love seeing all the vibrant and colorful houses. There’s so many of them spread around the area. If you visit, prepare to see bunch of the warehouses that look like they could be fancy coffee bars, a bunch of super cool art galleries, and most importantly a few Ice cream parlors too, which I can say are all amazing! :) It was a lot of fun to walk around and do this little photo shoot.
We went to this really old red brick building. It houses a bunch of live-in art studios and a few workshops. We got to walk around a bit, but I really just wanted to check out the different art being created there. I didn’t get the chance to, but the natural lighting from the high ceilings, and humongous windows give us a few awesome opportunities to get some good shots.
The oversized jacket I’m wearing is one of my favorites. I call it my teddy bear coat. I have 3 in different colors lol so soft and comfy. I feel like i’m wrapped in a burrito when I put it on! I picked the nude color for this shoot, and tried to keep my makeup soft to let my eyebrows make a statement. I used Chanel Sublimage Le Teint Cream Foundation. I wanted a nude looked so I wore beige rosé. Rouge Allure Stillness for the lip.
My teddy coat (the oversized one) is from revolve and the leather pant is from Cholé. I paired with Tibi leather mule. So simple from the front.. But notice the jewels on the back of my heels! FUN at the back. :D
We took a little break for me to change into my second outfit and we went to this coffee shop called Piccino. It’s an organic coffee shop and wine bar. So cute, awesome selection of wine, and.. My weakness.. PIZZA! How could I ask for any more..!? I totally recommend you all go there when you want to unwind with a good book. You might even see me there working on this blog ;)
There’s also a lot of cute local retails stores around the area. One I really like it called Rickshaw/ They do the fresh commuter bags. All kinds of different colors, shapes. and sizes. I’ve always liked what they have on the shelves, but found out you can customize your own too! I’m already designing my next bag..
Over all, I had such a great shoot with @gdshoots. So happy I finally had the chance to explore Dogpatch. It’s so charming and a great location for photographers and influencers who love to be creative and are looking for a bit of inspiration.
