Dear, Tulum..

My Dear, Tulum..Love this place with all my heart..

Tulum is a beautiful part of the Caribbean Sea. I have so many good memories of that place, but left so many bad ones buried there. The beach is so amazing.. the sand, the turquoise water..helps me forget my sadness. This 5 day trip cured my broken heart.Yeah, I know.. Everybody’s had experiences like this in life. I’m not trying to make mine seem bigger than anybody else's, BUT it’s hard.. And it hurt. I was in this relationship for two years, My first real love. Then one day, out of the blue, we went our separate ways. Soooo.. My girls, being the best emotional supporters, planned the trip to Tulum. I’m like whatever, wherever..get me out of here lol..

Azulik is the place to be in Tulum, Mexico. Water Vila .. so close to the beach

We arrived to Cancún first, then a car picked us up from a hotel called Azulik. It took us a little over an hour to get to our destination. I was just so tired and not in the mood for site seeing, and was not enjoying the trip at all.. But when we arrived the hotel - It took my breath away. The whole place was lit by only candlelight, creating a natural magical ambiance. White cotton drapes and white candles with wild wood handles, everything seemed so  organic. I honestly forgot about my heartbreak and drama for second and couldn’t help but just breathe it all in.. I was so amazed. Our Mayan vela was so close to the beach and had a private jacuzzi and pool outside. There was also a massive yoga retreat tent and spa connected to our villas private path.

Enjoying the sun rise from my vila..

At this cute beach bar at Azulik ..

The beach was a 1 minute walk from my bed and I mostly spend my time on the sand. It’s the hotel’s private beach, so it’s kept super clean. They even went as far as to constantly pick up larger rocks and debris off the beach to keep the sand smooth. I’ve seriously never felt such silky smooth sand between my toes in my entire life, and I don’t think I ever will again. The beach bar was super cute too! Instead of bar stools, they have swings hanging around the bar. Huge umbrellas kept everything nice and cool, even though it was a perfect 80’F outside. All my sadness was kinda washed away slowly with the ocean’s current, leaving fresh and completely relaxed.

Passion fruit Tequila sunrise is amazing.. as you see I have two lol

Taking a little beauty nap on the swing after the lunch..

I booked the spa session for the group did the Mayan Rebirth Ceremony. It’s an hour and half full body massage and skin exfoliation. At the end, they layer you with mayan clay and wrap you in banana leaves. It’s sounds funny but I can’t explain how good it felt. First it was cold.. but as it dries on your skin, it warms up and just makes you melt and relax. Plus, my skin was soo soft afterwards. Then..yup.. The long retreat! hahaha! They took us to a Yinyan shaped bathtub, that was filled with a blend of local flowers and plants. The therapist pray over you in their native language, while relaxed and soaked in the bath - sending away all our negative energy with the old body and soul. Then... rebirth! I felt like a new person. We carried the flowers and the plants from the bath to the ocean and give back to mother nature to clean our energy and carry away old worries. It’s sound kinda cliche’, but I feel like I reconnected with myself throughout this process. Although I still cared about things that happened in the past, I was ready to look forward and take on whatever comes next in life. I’m so glad I did this ceremony.

Feeling all refresh after the Mayan Rebirth Ceremony .. FYI: we have 3 private pools in front of our vila..I only dipped in once , Ocean is my friend sorry fancy pools ahahaha

Shopping time, inside of the shop.. I want like this in my room in San francisco

I got this handmade cotton set from one of the local boutique, very soft and perfect for the weather..

The next day, we went to PPP (Papaya Playa Project resort) for lunch, which was just a few blocks away from our hotel in Quintana Roo. After an awesome lunch,  we went snorkeling and diving to the ‘Bat cave’, a really amazing natural cave. So beautiful in the crystal clear water! All cooled off and relaxed, it was time to hit the town for the local markets and to get some food. Of course we did some SHOPPING at the same time.. What else do you expect from me ;) I love how the local designers handmade dream catchers in front of you, you can pick the colors and shape. It was fascinating to watch. I almost want to try to make one myself one day.

little waterfall inside the spa and yoga center

I'm wearing Fae swim and over size sunglasses. My fav is my scarf from DVF!! I used it as wrap and also as scraf.

The Mayan ruins were so beautiful. I’ve wanted to see them in person for years. Although it was a lot of fun visiting Playa del Carmen, the heat was no joke! Around noon, I even got light headed and had to take a break. Some cold drinks in the shade did the trick.

I used Chanel SPF 50 lotion for this Mexico sun. Got me a nice caramel tan though..:)

Oh! I have to mention one of the coolest places we went to, KIN TOH. It’s a Mayan-Mexican avant-garde bar and restaurant inside our hotel. Every night when we got back to the hotel.. we went there and watched the sunset on their giant rope hammock. I still dream of having a drink in that hammock with my girls...

Duck face lol Finally I got a little color on me

Just back from swimming , don't even wanna dry my hair, wanna enjoy the sun set and  reconnecting myself from all my drama..

Over all, it was such a soulful and remarkable for me. Thanks to my dolls and Tulum. I’m emotionally healed in a way and I’m ready for whatever life throws at me next.

Magic walkway to the vila..
